A CLOSER LOOK: Jay Leno featuring Emily West

Some of the most interesting details of a stage production can sometimes only be seen by the people on stage. Here at the Thrasher-Horne, we try our best to give you an inside look at all aspects of our performances. We want you to see all angles of your favorite shows and artists… more than just the view from your seat. If we can get access to it, so should you! It’s with this mentality that we bring you a new regular feature on the blog – A CLOSER LOOK. This will be our opportunity to take you into the spotlights, through the stage door, and into every nook and cranny backstage to show you how your night of entertainment comes to be – from load-in to load-out.

Jay Leno took the stage at the Thrasher-Horne on January 14th, 2017, with good friend Emily West as his opening act. Check out some close-up shots from the performance below. If you were in the audience, you’ll agree – it was a night of side splitting comedy and soaring vocals!

Emily West Hits The Thrasher-Horne Mainstage With Jay Leno!

The big announcement earlier this year for the Thrasher-Horne Center was that we were bringing Jay Leno to our mainstage on January 14th. But what seemed to slip through the cracks was Jay’s opening act: Emily West. Signed to Capitol Records Nashville, she debuted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs charts in early 2008 with the single “Rocks in Your Shoes”. This song peaked at No. 39 early in the year, and is the first single from a self-titled EP. She entered the country charts a second time with “Blue Sky”, a duet with Keith Urban, in 2010.

In 2012, West guest-starred in Body of Proof. In 2014, she competed on the 9th season of America’s Got Talent, where she finished as the runner up to magician Mat Franco. Since her success on the show, West has toured extensively throughout the United States, first with her one-woman show and then with America’s Got Talent Live: The All-Stars Tour! Now she’s hit the road with Jay Leno, bringing you a delicious appetizer of sultry songstress prior to your comedy main course.

Check out these incredible torch songs that prove why Emily West is quickly becoming a household name!

Tickets for Jay Leno and Emily West are available through our Box Office by calling (904)276-6815 or by visiting THcenter.org.

SEEN AT THE SCENE – Tracy Morgan

On November 12th, 2016, Tracy Morgan made his very first visit to Northeast Florida along with fellow comedians Tracey Ashley and Marc Theobald for over two hours of sidesplitting humor. Touching heavily on the 2014 auto accident that almost ended his life, he crafted a set that was oftentimes as poignant as it was hilarious. It was refreshing to see Morgan back in his element and to be one of the first crowds to experience his humor again.

And speaking of crowds, let’s take a look at some of the lucky audience members who were here with us to welcome Tracy back:
